Host a St. Patrick’s Day Party at Home
The first thing you need when planning a party is a venue, instead of spending your St. Patty’s Day in a crowded pub make it a green-themed night in your spacious Regency Park apartment home.
In order to throw a great St. Patty’s Day party you must have green drinks. Your guests will expect the usual suspects of Guinness and Harp Lager, but you can surprise them with green appetizers and a Shamrock Shake!
Recreating the classic shake is easy; just follow these simple steps from Zoe Rogers, Shake Expert :
1. In a blender, combine 2 cups of Vanilla ice cream, ¾ cup of milk and ¾ teaspoon of peppermint extract. Blend mixture on high until well blended and smooth.
2. Pour shake into a large glass. The shake will be thick so if you want it more pourable, blend in up to ½ cup of more milk.
3. To create the same green shade of McDonald’s Shamrock Shakes briskly stir in 5 to 8 drops of green food coloring with a fork, until blended. Just add enough green food coloring to achieve the shade of green you desire.
4. Top your Shamrock Shake with whipped cream and a cherry, or, with whipped cream and green sugar crystals or shamrock shaped sprinkles. Both are available at supermarkets in the baking aisle.
